One of the most powerful names in New York city with powerful money to back it up -- THE NYPOST is a place where anything goes, if we can sell it then do it. Most people see this outfit as controversial and right wing, but you will be surprised to find that a greater amount of this company is occupied by lefties and true ideal that is the POST is if it will produce then write about it and sell it, plain and simple -- Opportunist!!!!
I have exercised almost every skill at this company from web design all the wall through to 3d animation and Objective C programming, I have grown greatly and had much fun.
When Obama won the the general it was like obama single handedly could of rebuilt the economy with the amount of commerce generated by his image. Anything from mugs to condoms had the mans name on it and everyone wanted to capitalize on it and the Post was no exception. Now behold the Interactive Commemorative guide of the life and times of Barack Obama. This a pretty big flash built utilizing a bunch of feeds and php to commerce data from editorial to viewers.
This was the rave of many social networks during the primaries of Obama's historic victory, I mean people were playing this game that no reason to even be at the Post website, but they came and wrote about it they did. This was just a simple game -- silly in nature with a purpose just to bring a morning or midday laugh -- even Joe Biden played and commented. Built using just Flash as2 and a ton of photoshop manipulations.
The CW wanted to hit NYPost viewership with an impact and what better way than to shoot through our content. The idea behind this takeover was to have Nikita shoot through our then reveal their tune in and keyart information. This development was design and developed in Flash as3 and javascript.
This was a fun build for the peoples over at Spiderman on broadway, my objective he was to have the NYPOST site destroyed by the Green Goblins pumpkins then have a video feed of the Green Goblin come in focus in devilish laughter. This build was done in flash as3 with video in the 2nd half of this ad. I also have a tutorial in my blog section just describing how and why I went about designing this ad, you could view it here Spiderman on Broadway tutorial.
This was another fun one, the idea to promote DKNY sports cologne around the start of the college football season. Users play the game and get a certain amount of points and then get entered to win a free all expensed paid trip to the snowy Poconos. This game involved alot of photoshop retouching and manipulation, and heavy as3 programming. This game was not meant to be serious but we wanted to paint the illusion that we were really armchair quaterbacks.
This was a very fun build even though the client critiqued it to death - it was still a pleasure to build. A good amount of javascript was incorporated into this build so both initial flash and secondary video flash could communicate with eachother, overall it was a seamless stitch job and and animation works well.
This was a fun project to get involved in. Here I had to design a quick landing page that would incorporate the sale of the transformers movie on DVD and video game.
This went live and did very well for the time that we ran it. This site was developed using HTML, CSS, PHP, and Flash as3.
They find it, you buy it and repair it -- I still cannot believe there is a market for salvage autos because how can you truly put a value to something like that, but people do buy and when people buy, companies need web sites -- so I cant knock the hustle. The point of this site was also the seller to display all the autos that they had in their lot and also allow users to purchase these vehicles online. This development was done in Drupal 6.
The point here was to bring attention to the fact that real house wive know how to flip things ( i guess). Upon seeing the Iron man designs that I had put together this client was than impressed with it and thought it would be to incorporate this into their advertising initiatives. They supplied the video and I the final dynamics. A rich a development using Flash, after Effects and 3d Studio Max.
This is one of those few builds for the NYPost that I actually conceived and pitch and the client bit on it. I truly enjoyed building this not only because I think it was a cool piece but because I was able to engage the client with an original idea then flesh out that idea into an true piece. This was developed purely in flash as3 with nothing really on back end or even being fed into flash only for this was a one time run for Law and Order.
The Stork club was one of the most popular clubs in New York City back in the 1950's, at its prime it was the place to be and all dignitaries, business and famous people alike made it a point to visit the stork club when in town. I was pleased to work on this site my original pieces of work only found their way into the final build because the business deal went in a different direction, however I was proud to be apart of this revisit to a historic place and time. This site was developed in PHP, HTML, CSS, XMLand Flash.
How could you ever say Sarah Palin and not hear moose hunting in your head? So making a game called Moose Hunting with Sarah Palin for the editorial department of the New York Post was a no brainer. Upon development of this game (which just put together in fun and not meant to be a full fledged game) the powers that this content was not proper material to be displayed on the pages of the New York, so unlike the Barak vs Hillary which was an instant hit, this game was pushed to the side. I guess it touched a couple of nerves over at News Corp.
Site design for a cupcake shop in lower manhattan. Ink Ink Ink Ink, the owner of this establish truly did have her sweet revenge on the corporate world after being let go from NBC Marlo Scott went on to establish a successful cupcake restaurant and has seen major major success with the release of the chase ink business credit card commercials of which she is the spokesperson. This site was initially put together as an introductory site for the sweet revenge cupcake restaurant. Major component for this site design was flash and at a later time a cms was put in place to facilitate her success and growth.
This site was a super quick build for an accountant here in New York, I built this site in just 2 days in Drupal 6-- not much but I'd figure I add for added development value.
This mini application was put together to display information about the yankee race to the pennant-- information was grabbed theough XML feeds that were populated by the sports department for the New York Post. This build was put together using light php and xml feeds and flash as2. I added this piece just a display of use of web ayers and how I incorporated them into this mini application.
